Poetry

by Yogi Christopher

Untitled #1

In my heart, secretly

Like an ugly sickness stains

I am so ashamed

This blight long I’ve known

A hidden flaw grown so deep

The light was gone

Living in darkness

Familiarity dawns

Mirror brightly lit

The distance between

Is nothing compared to fear

Of getting too close

You, my love, guide me

Spilling out of me, ablaze

Uncontrollably

Present with right now

And remembering my roots

Knowing all is well

So please be welcome

For life has always been yours

To give or take

as it pleases you...

Clear Seeing

The mirror does not communicate.

It reflects.

Only light shines into the darkness.

Untitled #3

heart song free of thought

unconditional love shines

with natural trust

There’s Time To Forgive

grief becoming bliss

no self recrimination

there’s time to forgive

burdens all the same

afraid to let go of it

unsure of the now

true gentility

bravery, not majesty

a fearless presence

drunk on media

our escape going too far

presence forgotten

grief becoming bliss

no self recrimination

there’s time to forgive

Untitled #2

come on, play with me

be like a child with words

we will laugh with awe
